The Artist

Rachel Elizabeth is a Welsh artist based in South London, creating mixed media abstract dreamscapes inspired by nature, femininity and emotional connection. Working with layered textures, expressive colour and fluid forms, her paintings explore atmosphere, symbolism and movement through intuitive mark-making.

Originally developing her sketch practice through studies of animals and botanical forms, Rachel evolved her visual language into richly layered abstract works influenced by music, travel and the natural world.

Her art practice began professionally in 2020 during the global pandemic, when painting became both sanctuary and creative direction, leading to the sale of her first works, Escape and Becoming. Since then, her collections have featured in exhibitions and local art events including Lee Green Open Studios, Blackheath Creatives, and SMAG, supporting community arts and charitable initiatives.

Alongside her studio practice, Rachel recently completed a Diploma in Interior Design, expanding her exploration of colour psychology and spatial aesthetics. Sustainability remains central to her work through the use of environmentally conscious materials and an ongoing connection to the landscapes that inspire her paintings.
