Why have one dream when you can have many?

Why have one dream when you can have many?

Inspired by dreams, 'Why have one dream when you can have many?' is a piece of perspective and transcendence, reflecting a period of my own self-development, growth, and stepping away from the solid rocks of constraint and into authenticity. Like water, it finds its own path.

Do you have a hobby? Perhaps it is creative or active. They may be social or aspirational. I bet you have more than one. Maybe, like me, you have too many to know what to do with!

The joy of being human is that we experience true expression. Some through music, some through painting. Others through dance, design or baking. There is no rule that says you can only choose one or that it has to be something mainstream or recognisable. This is what I was connecting to in this painting: the feeling when I’m painting, or when I’m singing. When I’m drinking wine with my closest friends or travelling to a new country with my love. These are the things that live in my dreams and feed my soul. They make my heart happy.

What began as mark making turned into a vibrant dance with bright, warm colour tones of autumn, swirling into the flight of a Phoenix, and crashing waves against a cliff edge, as if life had been discovered for the very first time, experienced in the most magical way.

At the edge of our human design, when we turn away from societal expectations and our generational patterns, when we're within nature, and we are alone with our heartbeat, we can connect with the things that make us happy. That helps us to thrive.

This painting is designed to bring you closer to that feeling of freedom and self-expression. For it to live on your walls to inspire and invite curiosity, especially on hard days. Painted on discarded MDF to make something beautiful from waste, and as a slightly heavier piece, it is destined to be the statement in a hallway, grand staircase, your living room or spacious landing. But, if it speaks to you for another space - a unique location where you can be yourself - is exactly what it belongs!
